Mission

Why CAMP exists

CAMP's mission is to advocate on behalf of responsible mortgage professionals and consumers for the availability of affordable financing, while promoting expert knowledge, accountability, sound lending, and ethical conduct throughout the mortgage industry.

Purpose: CAMP serves as a forum for financial education, community outreach, innovation, networking, and legislative and regulatory advocacy. CAMP also provides exclusive benefits and public relations for our members.

What is CAMP?

Established 1990

The California Association of Mortgage Professionals was established in 1990 by mortgage professionals throughout the state. Today, CAMP represents more than 40,000 mortgage professionals and affiliated service providers across California.

Mortgage professionals are consumer advocates in the mortgage selection process, helping home buyers to pre-qualify, select a mortgage loan, and complete escrow. By linking with banks, other financial institutions, and private lenders, mortgage professionals offer consumers access to a wide range of choices as they select the right mortgage for their needs.

The Association's primary activities

Continuing education Accredited educational opportunities and enrichment programs designed to raise industry standards and customer service.

Consumer awareness Strengthening consumer awareness of mortgage services.

Legislative & regulatory updates Information about state and federal legislative and regulatory developments related to the industry.

Advocacy Protecting the means and methods of the industry from unfair regulatory restrictions.

Networking The opportunity for mortgage professionals to network and learn from each other.

Access to home ownership Working to increase access to home ownership and housing affordability for all Californians.

Professional or Associate membership in CAMP requires a DRE broker or salesperson license in good standing, principal responsibility for the named mortgage broker business, and agreement to abide by the CAMP Code of Ethics. Members are also granted membership in their local CAMP chapter and can sign up for optional membership in NAMB.
